HocPay Terms and Conditions
Welcome to HocPay! These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of HocPay’s services, including our website, mobile applications, APIs, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). By using HocPay, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use our Services.
1. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to use HocPay.
 - You must provide accurate and complete information during registration.
 - By opening an account, you confirm that you are not barred from using financial services under applicable laws.
 
2. Account Registration
- You are required to complete Know Your Customer (KYC) verification in compliance with CBN/NDPR/AML regulations.
 - You are responsible for safeguarding your login details and any activity that occurs under your account.
 - You must promptly notify us of any unauthorized use of your account.
 
3. Services Provided
HocPay offers:
- Wallet creation, funding, and withdrawals.
 - Peer-to-peer and merchant payments.
 - Bill payments and airtime top-up.
 - API and integration services for developers.
 - Other financial products as may be introduced.
 
4. Fees and Charges
- Certain transactions may attract fees, displayed before you confirm a transaction.
 - We reserve the right to review fees, but any changes will be communicated in advance.
 
5. User Obligations
By using HocPay, you agree to:
- Use the Services only for lawful purposes.
 - Not engage in fraud, money laundering, terrorism financing, or prohibited activities.
 - Comply with all applicable financial regulations in Nigeria and other jurisdictions where you use HocPay.
 - Provide accurate information and update it when necessary.
 
6. Transaction Limits
- Daily and monthly transaction limits may apply in line with regulatory requirements.
 - Higher limits may require additional KYC documentation.
 
7. Refunds and Reversals
- Transactions are generally final once processed.
 - In case of disputes, reversals will be handled in line with CBN and network operator guidelines.
 - HocPay is not liable for losses arising from errors in details you provide (e.g., wrong account number).
 
8. Intellectual Property
- All trademarks, logos, and content on HocPay belong to us or our licensors.
 - You may not reproduce, distribute, or exploit our intellectual property without consent.
 
9. Data Protection
Your personal data is collected and used in line with our Privacy Policy. By using HocPay, you consent to such collection and use.
10. Security
- We use industry-standard measures (encryption, authentication, fraud monitoring) to secure your transactions.
 - You are responsible for keeping your device and credentials secure.
 - We will not be liable for unauthorized access due to your negligence.
 
11. Limitation of Liability
- HocPay provides services “as is” and makes no guarantees of uninterrupted or error-free operation.
 - We are not liable for losses arising from network downtime, third-party failures, or regulatory actions.
 - Our total liability to you will not exceed the total fees paid by you to HocPay in the last 6 months.
 
12. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if:
- You breach these Terms.
 - We suspect fraud, illegal activity, or regulatory non-compliance.
 - Required by law or regulatory authority.
 
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
 - Disputes shall first be resolved amicably; if unresolved, they will be referred to arbitration in Lagos, Nigeria, under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act.
 
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of HocPay after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
